Federico Mompou put motto-like a text at the head to one single of his 28 piano pieces of the "Música Callada", and that the both final lines of Paul Valéry's poem Les pas:
Car j’ai vécu de vous attendre,
Et mon coeur n’était que vos pas.
Using extremely reduced materials and after-listening bells-like dying away again and again, my piece aims at these words. So at the same time it tries to take up Mompou’s procedures and the glassy-crystal aura of his introverted sound world.
